If your rod becomes unusable due to breakage, warping, handle issues, or other reasons, you may be covered by the Tuned Up Custom Rods Three-Year Common-Sense Warranty. This warranty covers any defect in your rod caused by the manufacturing process or defective materials. Normal build times of 3-5 weeks will apply. If you wish to modify your new rod in any way, additional costs may apply. If a rod of equal specifications is available at the time, it may be shipped sooner. The decision of defect is solely up to the Tuned Up Custom Rods Staff. This warranty is valid for Three Years from the purchase date of your rod and is non-transferable. 3 Year No Questions Asked Accidental Breakage Warranty Form
1. A Tuned Up Custom Rod is an investment, and one that will last a long time if properly cared for.
2. We strongly recommend the use of a hard-sided rod case (Otter, Scheels, Etc.) for storage and transportation. If you use a soft sided case, consider not using a rod sock. They tend to catch the tip and lead to breakage.
3. Never store your rod under load. This will lead to warping. We recommend using the hook keeper.
4. Never reel your lure into the top eyelet, it leads to rod breakage.
5. Fish houses are small confined spaces, know your surroundings.
6. Heaters are notorious rod breakers. When a rod touches a heater is creates a weak spot that might not be visible. Often the next hookset leads to a rod folding in half. Use of rod holders helps eliminate this problem.
Due to the high cost of shipping for both customer and TUCR, Canadian warranties are handled differently than those in the U.S.. Those looking to file a warranty claim and live in Canada DO NOT have to ship the defective rod back, but still need to fill out the warranty form located on our website. These forms can be downloaded as an editable PDF. Once filled out it can be sent to sales@tunedupcustomrods.com .
If you are unable to complete a PDF, the form can be printed and filled out by hand and picture sent to the email address. TUCR also requires pictures of the broken area, picture of entire rod, and picture of the butt cap with an “X” across it and dated. These pictures must be of good quality and sent to the email address above.
Replacement charges will incur regardless of manufacture defect or accidental breakage. For ice fishing rods there is a flat fee of $50USD for the replacement plus $25USD for partial shipping cost if the breakage is deemed accidental. For open water rods there is a flat fee of $75USD for the replacement plus $35USD for partial shipping cost if the breakage is deemed accidental. Once a claim has been reviewed an invoice will be sent to the provided email address. Please allow 4-5 weeks for replacement rods that need to be built. Once the replacement has been shipped you will receive a confirmation and tracking information.
*Note: If you ordered your rod with custom colors and/or writing, you must return the rod to Tuned Up Custom Rods for an exact replacement; however, if you wish to replace your rod with one of our stock rods, you may send your rod to Pokey's. This will be a much faster option for a replacement rod.*
